RESCUE CAN (also called CAN) A boyant lifesaving device that lifeguards carry with them at all times while patrolling the beach. The device, consists of a red tether and an attached rope with a black harness. The Rescue Can is very handy in keeping the lifeguard safely out of reach of a paniky victim. They are also used for self-defense. [Information is repeated under CAN]
