Erika Eleniak was born in Glendale, California. During the 1960s, her father had moved from Canada to Hollywood in hope
of becoming an actor. It was there where he had married and quickly divorced Erika's mother. Erika, the eldest of five
children-four girls and one boy. Erika's father can be credited with introducing her to her career. his then
girlfriend got her a part to model children's clothing for TV commercials. She moved on to other products in her teens including
hair products and motorcycles.
Her first part although uncredited, was as a young child in the hit E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial. High school years saw
her dependant on drugs and alcohol. A young man named Steve became her mentor and helped her through drug treatment. He was physically
challenged, but charming and she was attracted to him. However Steve's father and Erika's mother dated and wed. Erika
had contemplated marrying Steve, but never did.
She landed several small TV roles. She landed a role on the TV sitcom, Charles in Charge, where she met Scott
Biao. The two dated. She posed for her first issue of Playboy magazine in 1989 to help boost her career. she appeared
in the July 1989 issue. She landed the part as Shauni McClain in the TV movie Baywatch: Panic at Malibu Pier. The movie
did very well and moved on to do the series. During the time on the set, she met Billy Warlock. Both were romantically
involved with others at the time, but they fell in love on the set and started dating. They got engaged. But Billy had a jealous
nature and admitted in an interview, "I can't bear anyone else to see her body." Because of this, she left the show after
two seasons. He too was leaving.
She made movies Under Siege, The Beverly Hillbillies and Chasers. She met actor William McNamera
on the set of Chasers and the two became romantically involved. They became engaged, but never married. Other movies included,
